Warforged

Magic and Steel

The warforged are living constructs that appear to be living statues, or animated armor. However, they are as aware as any human. Some warforged even learn to wield magic.

No one knows how the warforged were created. Whether they are souls trapped by mad mages, or hunks of metal blessed by the gods; the machine-men have proven to be a terrifyingly precise, and an unfortunately sentient, weapon of war.

Living Weapon

It is believed the warforged were created during the last war. What is more likely is they are either an ancient species that either wiped out or was deactivated by their creators. Or that their method of creation was found in some ancient tomb.

During the war, they were wielded to great effect. Fearless and tireless, Warforged would often throw themselves at the enemy, no heed to their own safety. Then something happened, the spark of self-awareness quickly spread among the ranks. Soon, Thalisate had a revolution on its hands.

A place of their own

In order to broker peace, the golemfactory that was used to create warforged was destroyed, along with all documents and plans. It is doubtful this knowledge was completely lost, though the empire’s ability to reproduce warforged is completely halted. Strangely enough, there seem to be warforged emerging from the south, that look slightly different than those that fought in the war.

The centaur believe much of Ikirid, the lands claimed by the warforged, are actually their ancestral land. As such, raids and attacks from centaur are frequent.
