Kenku

Earthbound Mimes

These land-bound birdfolk are able to perfectly mimic sounds, and possess a penchant for getting into places they shouldn’t.

Legend has it that Kenku used to fly. Cursed for mocking the gods, they were robbed of their wings. Kenku find this utterly ridiculous.

Flock of Knives

Kenku make excellent scouts, forgers and spies. Able to communicate across great distances in secret, posses powerful memories and a diminutive size perfect for hiding. Some Kenku pursue darker trades, becoming thieves and assassins.

The Holy City

Dazis, captial of the Goj Caliphate is a holy city dedicated to the divines. Many citizens of Ristax take pilgrimage to this kenku city to take in its culture, or trade in silks and dyes.

Expert Forgery. You can duplicate other creatures' handwriting and craftwork. You have advantage on all checks made to produce forgeries or duplicates of existing objects.

Kenku Training. You are proficient in your choice of two of the following skills: Acrobatics, Calligrapher’s Tools, Deception, Forgery Kit, Performance, Stealth, Sleight of Hand, and Weaver’s Tools.

Mimicry. You can mimic sounds you have heard, including voices. A creature that hears the sounds you make can tell they are imitations with a successful Wisdom (Insight) check opposed by your Charisma (Deception) check.

Bird Call. Kenku can communicate with each other over vast distances. Through a series of chirps and whistles, they can convey simple ideas to other Kenku over several kilometers in the right conditions.

Non-kenku cannot understand these calls without the aid of magic, and usually dismiss them as wilderness sounds.
